As the metallic structure opened, the teenagers watched in awe and fear. They could see movement inside, but they couldn’t make out any details. Then, a bright light shone out from within, blinding them momentarily.
When their eyes adjusted, they saw figures emerging from the structure. They were humanoid in shape, but their skin was a pale blue, and they had elongated fingers and toes. They were the Trifin, and they had come to Coalfield.
The teenagers were frozen, unsure of what to do next. But then, one of the Trifin spoke. Its voice was unlike anything they had ever heard, a strange mixture of clicks and whistles.
“Welcome, humans,” it said. “We come in peace.”
The teenagers exchanged glances, still unsure of how to react. But then, Billy stepped forward.
“What do you want?” he asked, his voice shaking.
The Trifin seemed to consider the question for a moment before responding.
“We have come to study your planet,” it said. “To learn about your species and your way of life.”

With that, the Trifin turned and headed back towards the metallic structure. As it disappeared inside, the lights and humming began to fade away. Within moments, the Trifin were gone, leaving the teenagers alone in the dark.
For a few moments, they just stood there, staring at the spot where the Trifin had vanished. Then, slowly, they began to move back towards town. They didn’t know what the future held, but one thing was certain: the arrival of the Trifin had changed everything.
