I was rocking out pretty hard with Guitar Hero last night. I was really shreddin’. Jumping around, singing, making a complete fool of myself. I was really into it. And sometimes, that is just what I have to do to really get into the game. Interestingly enough, the games stopped and this image popped up. I guess I should calm down a bit the next time I play.
So I did it yesterday. I resisted the temptation for as long as I could. I couldn’t help myself. It was calling my name ever so gently…
This is my first time ever playing, much less owning Guitar Hero. The Guitar Hero franchise recently surpassed the $1 Billion mark which is astronomical, so it was only fitting that I contribute another $90 to the creators. The big draw for me to this version was the genre of songs. Classic and Anthem Rock at its finest. Never has there been a greater collection of songs than the ones on this game.
I played for about 2 hours last night, and was totally rocking out. I decided to try a bit of online play and battle someone. That is when I realized I had a lot of practicing to do. I got my ass handed to me, and it was probably by some 12 year old kid who should have been doing his homework. Asshole. If he continues on this downward spiral, he will probably wind up working for some subtitle service in the future.
The magazine is off to a great start. There are currently 6 authors all writing about a variety of Nintendo Wii related subjects. Each day seems to bring us more visitors than the previous. It has so far surpassed my expectations.
Here is a sampling of what is currently raking in the traffic:
I found a web site this morning that was created by a guy who is selling his video game collection. After looking at some these pictures, I was amazed at just how extensive his collection is. He currently has everything up for auction on Ebay, and when I checked the bid this morning, it is sitting pretty at $9,000. Couple this with some home theater chairs and you may never see daylight again…
I bet he never imagined that one day it would turn into this. Click the photo to be taken to his website.
After decades of painstakingly collecting video games and consoles, I’ve finally decided to part with my entire collection. From Atari to PlayStation 2, there’s something for everybody in this collection. Even the unbelievably rare games are included. You may have played NiGHTS on the Sega Saturn, but did you know that they made an extremely rare Christmas version? You’ll find that in this collection, along with a rare NiGHTS analog controller. Many people are familiar with the Nintendo DS, but did you know that the Neo Geo Pocket was a handheld game system that was released half a decade earlier? You’ll find the Neo Geo Pocket Color in this collection too. Sure, you’ve probably played DVD-based games such as Scene-It, but the Nuon system preceded it by over 7 years and only released 8 games. This collection has 7 of the 8, including Iron Soldier 3, a game which was later recalled. Place your bid now to own your share of video game history.
The following systems are represented in this auction: Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx, Coleco ColecoVision, Coleco Gemini, Coleco Telstar, Commodore 64/128, GCE Vectrex, Mattel Aquarius, Mattel Intellivision, Mattel Odyssey 2, Microsoft Xbox, Microsoft Xbox 360, Miscellaneous APF TV Fun, Miscellaneous Handheld Games, Miscellaneous PC Games, Miscellaneous SC Eight Thousand, Miscellaneous Sega Pods, Miscellaneous TV Games, NEC Turbo Duo, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo NES, Nintendo Nintendo 64, Nintendo Super NES, Nintendo Virtual Boy, Nintendo Wii, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Game Gear, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Sega Saturn, SNK Neo Geo, SNK Neo Geo Pocket, Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2, Texas Instruments TI 99/4A, VM Labs Nuon.
There are 1,768 items with an estimated value of $14,639.00. Rarity has been checked based on online rarity guides, including the DigitPress rarity guides. The Reserve and Buy It Now are set well below the estimated value. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to build your video game collection… or maybe it’s time to rebuild your collection… either way, there are some great items in this collection. Store purchasers are also welcome.
