Random Unrelated Image: Kid Lucky To Be Alive
I couldn’t find the inspiration to sit and write a post for today, but I did watch a video recently that amused amazed me. It’s a short video of a cheetah that kills a baboon but seems to mother the dead baboon’s baby. It’s quite interesting to a wildlife nut like myself.
Bucky,
That is a pretty amazing video.
I don’t know about you, but I find it harder and harder to justify putting a bullet in another sentient being. I think within a couple of years I will probably give up hunting all together. I still love going to camp and hanging out, but I just have trouble killing something that has just as much desire to remain among the living as I do.
I really struggle with it. Science tells me there is a food chain, and, as you know, I have never been much for religion, but I still have trouble with it. I have never been one of those people who got any joy out of killing something.
Have you ever read Hemingway’s “The Green Field’s of Africa”? If not, I have a copy of it I will loan you when I get back to the states.
I love to hunt, and have never killed anything that I didn’t eat. I couldn’t justify it otherwise.
I like to eat meat, and the only difference of killing myself and buying it out of the store is the person who killed it.
Last I remember, you don’t eat much meat?
No, I haven’t read that book.
